A resident living in the Harvard Square area reports hearing 4-8 loud bangs. Reporting party stated to police it sounded different than fireworks. RP stated that he has never heard a gunshot before. Police responded to the area and searched and found no evidence of gunshots. This was the only call reported.

HAMPSHIRE ST
Oct 21, 2013 - 7:40am: At the intersection of Hampshire St and Inman St a three-car motor vehicle accident occurred after one operator abruptly stopped for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. This action caused a chain-reaction collision. Damages to involved vehicles appeared minor. However, an involved operator complained of back pain and was subsequently transported to the hospital for evaluation.

On 10/19/2013 at approx. 1:30pm, officers spoke with a group of people at the Cambridge Common smoking marijuana. One of the parties was found to have a small bag of marijuana on her. The marijuana amounted to less than one ounce, was seized, and brought back to the police station and marked for destruction.

On Oct. 21, 2013 at approx. 11:30am a female was observed using an iPad. Detectives had received information that this female was involved in a recent theft of an iPad. She was unable to show ownership of the iPad, it was seized as evidence.  The investigation is ongoing.

On Oct. 21, 2013 at approx. 9:30am a Museum St resident reports his home broken into on 10/18/13 between 4pm and 9pm. An iPhone was stolen from the residence.

On October 21,2013 Bruce Perez, 26, of 97 Winslow Ave in Somerville, MA was arrested for Receiving stolen motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was observed by Officers inside a stolen vehicle, operating on a public way with no driver’s license.
