Cambridge Police and US Marshals Arrest Suspect on Warrants

Detective George Tavares of the Cambridge Police Department and members of the US Marshals Task Force arrested Scott Vining, 44, of 675 East 4th Street in South Boston.

Vining was arrested on November 6th in Saugus on warrants out of Cambridge District Court charging him with two housebreaks in the Cambridgeport neighborhood of Cambridge.  He is suspected in additional housebreaks in Cambridge.

“This neighborhood has been victimized by numerous housebreaks and we hope this arrest will increase the safety and security of the area,” said Cambridge Police Deputy Superintendent Paul Ames.

Vining was also charged on warrants out of Malden District Court and Suffolk Superior Court.

Upon arresting Vining, officers discovered 18 grams of cocaine, 9 ounces of “bath salts,” and 38 grams of oxycodone pills, all packaged for distribution along with over $8,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and items believed to have been stolen during housebreak activity.

He was additionally charged with Possession of a Class B Drug, Possession to Distribute a Class B Drug, and Trafficking in Cocaine.
