The Cambridge Police Department is asking residents to be vigilant after an armed robbery occurred last night inside a Craigie Street apartment building at approximately 8:10 p.m.

Police responded after the victim reported he was in the process of moving out of his apartment and a suspect entered his apartment and confronted him with a knife.  The victim stated that while he was moving, he left the front door to his apartment open.  The suspect reportedly entered the apartment with a piece of mail in his hand and asked if the victim had dropped it outside of his apartment. The suspect then raised a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet and e-book, which was being held by the victim. After receiving both items, the suspect fled the apartment building. The victim was physically unharmed.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s/50s with white hair and a strong Eastern European accent. There have been no similar crimes of this nature in this area over the past six months.

The Cambridge Police are actively investigating this crime. Anyone with any information is asked to call Detective Grassi of the Cambridge Police Department at 617-349-3228.
