Package Thefts Map

The Cambridge Police Department has received an increased number of reported package thefts in July in August, primarily in the Area 4 and Riverside neighborhoods. Since the beginning of July, there have been 17 reported package thefts from residences citywide. A majority of the thefts have occurred during the daytime.

Cambridge Police strongly encourage residents to follow these tips to help protect yourself and your packages:

  • Request the delivery of package(s) via a signature to ensure the package will not be left on the front steps or foyer
  • Track your packages online, so you have a better idea when it is scheduled to arrive.
  • Have your packages delivered to your work address or to a neighbor.friend/family member who would be home, in the event that you are not.
  • If you’re suspicious or have experienced this type of activity, report to to the Cambridge Police Department immediately by calling 617-349-3300.
