CAMBRIDGE ST
Cambridge Police, along with EMTs, responded to the intersection of Quincy Street and Cambridge Street for a motor vehicle accident involving a bicyclist and a pickup truck. The bicyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was knocked off his bike and was transported to the hospital for minor non-life threatening injuries.

NORTH POINT BLVD
Cambridge Police observed Michael Shehadi, 29, 81 Magoun Avenue, Medford, conducting suspicious activity by a train station while placing a collapsible baton and prescription medication on the ground. As police walked toward him, he suddenly gathered these items and began to run away. He abruptly ran into and through traffic from Cambridge Street onto McGrath Highway. Numerous vehicles had to abruptly stop to avoid striking the suspect. Concerned for his safety and the safety of the public, police gave Shehadi numerous commands to "Stop." However, he refused and continued to create a hazardous environment. Shehadi tried to remove the collapsible baton while fleeing. Police noticed this and shouted for him to "Stop" or he would be sprayed. He looked at police and violently grabbed the baton inside his pocket to strike an officer. Shehadi was then sprayed. Additional officers arrived on scene and found Shehadi trying to hide. Shehadi jumped to his feet and pushed one of the officers in an attempt to flee again. He was arrested on scene.

FRANKLIN ST
A Somerville resident was issued a criminal complaint for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle (Motorcycle). This incident occurred at the intersection of Franklin Street and River Street as a result of a road rage incident involving the resident and the operator of a motor vehicle. This intersection is a public way in the city of Cambridge. A status check of the resident revealed an active class D driver’s license and no motorcycle status on file. He produced a motorcycle learner’s permit, which had expired in 2013.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of Eliot Street and Mt. Auburn Street for failing to stop for a stop sign and for failing to yield for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The operator of the vehicle was found to have an expired driver's license. She was issued a criminal application for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on a public way.
