Deputy Christine Elow and Commissioner Haas

Last night, the YWCA Cambridge honored Cambridge Police Deputy Superintendent Christine Elow at their Tribute to Outstanding Women awards dinner at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.  This year’s theme was “Still We Rise,” which refers to the strength and tenacity of the honorees and recognizes their talents and skills to enrich the lives of the people in our community.

For more than 120 years, the YWCA Cambridge has been affiliated with bright, articulate, strong and courageous women who share our commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women. In 2014, they celebrated their 22nd Tribute to Outstanding Women, who through their employment or volunteer activities are leaders in our communities. Whether they lead quietly behind the scenes or in highly visible roles, they make the Cambridge and Marshfield areas better places to live.

“We are extremely proud that Deputy Superintendent Christine Elow has been recognized by the YWCA as one of this year’s Tribute to Outstanding Women Awards honorees,” said Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert C. Haas. “This recognition is a testimony to Deputy Elow’s passion, commitment and outstanding service to the City of Cambridge.  Over the years, Deputy Elow has had an illustrious law enforcement career and forged important relationships between the police and young men and women of color.  Deputy Elow is an invaluable leader in the Cambridge Police Department and a tremendous role model for our community.”
