LEWDNESS, OPEN AND GROSS c272 S16

ESSEX ST
Jake GARDNER, 29, of 306 Prospect Street, Cambridge, MA was arrested and charged with Lewdness, Open and Gross Resist Arrest. GARDNER was observed by three Cambridge Police Officers urinating in public on a fence located on Essex Street. During this time several members of the public were leaving local bars in the Central Square area. When GARDNER was informed that he was being placed under arrest he took off running down the sidewalk on Essex Street away from Central Square. After a brief foot pursuit Cambridge Police Officers were able to catch GARDNER and place him into custody.

An employee of a Cambridge MA, local store reported being physically assaulted by a heavy set b/m as he stole two pair of headphones, valued at $280.00 and $400.00. The suspect then smashed through the front glass door causing it to shatter into pieces. The suspect then continued his escape onto the sidewalk where he crashed into two recycling barrels forcing them onto a parked commercial van thereby smashing the right rear sliding window/glass door. The driver was seated in the motor vehicle, but not injured. The suspect turned left onto J F K Street and fled the area.
