Members of the Cambridge Police Department will be presenting at the annual conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), which is being hosted in Chicago October 24-27, 2015.  Commissioner Robert C. Haas and his staff will lead sessions in the Leadership and Public Information Officer Tracks.

Commissioner Haas will be joined by Deputy Superintendent Christine Elow, Sergeant Frederick Cabral, Jacquelyn Rose (Director of Outreach and Community Programs) and Catherine Pemberton (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), who will present a session on “Policing Vulnerable Populations.” They will discuss how they have responded to the needs of vulnerable populations using a public health framework, resource allocation, training and community collaboration.

Jeremy Warnick, Director of Communications and Media Relations at the Cambridge Police Department, will be presenting a session entitled “Tips and Tricks to Know If Your Social Media Efforts Are Working.” The session will be focused on helping departments understand if their social media efforts are working, while learning the importance of measuring their social media outreach and engagement, and exploring available tools to make their programs easier.

“The annual IACP conference is the premiere event of the year for police chiefs all over the country and I’m proud that my staff will be able to highlight the progressive work we are doing around policing vulnerable populations and social media,” stated Commissioner Haas.

The IACP Annual Conference & Expo is the largest law enforcement event of the year, as more than 14,000 public safety professionals attend to learn new techniques, advance their knowledge and careers, and equip their department for ongoing success.
