Cambridge Police responded to the area of Huron Avenue and Park Avenue to investigate a report of a suspicious person possibly under the influence of alcohol. Officers made contact with the male who was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle. While attempting to get the suspicious male out the vehicle, he struck an officer in the right knee with his left foot. Just moments later, he struck the same officer in the chest with his right foot. Jonathan Nelson, 47, of 95 Magoun Avenue, Medford was placed under arrest for two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
