Cambridge Police stopped a suspicious person on the corner of Pearl Street and Massachusetts Avenue. As a result of the stop, Jose Olivo, 32, of 402 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, was placed under arrest for receiving stolen property over $250 after it was determined that he was riding on a recently stolen bicycle.

Herman Blanco, 42, of 58 Medford Street, Charlestown, was arrested for larceny over $250 after he stole a bicycle from a bike rack. Blanco used cable cutters to cut through the lock that secured the bike to a bike rack.

Tia Justina Malan, 21, of 36 Newtowne Court, Cambridge, was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property -$250, Assault & Battery, Assault & Battery on a Police Officer, Assault & Battery with a dangerous weapon, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. The defendant damaged merchandise from a retail establishment and exhibited violent behavior, causing large crowds to gather. Malan struck a security officer and a police officer, then resisted arrest while officers attempted to place her into custody.

Cambridge Police responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a report of a hit and run. Witnesses stated a vehicle pulled into traffic and struck another vehicle before fleeing the scene. The vehicle was later stopped by Arlington Police in Arlington. Officers noticed damage to the vehicle that was consistent to the motor vehicle crash. The driver admitted to officers that she was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Cambridge. The driver was summonsed to court for Leaving the Scene with Property Damage
