The Cambridge Police Department today announced they have made an arrest of a Malden resident, who was allegedly involved in a breaking and entering of a Western Avenue residence.

Kassy DePina, 20, Malden, was arrested this morning for Unarmed Burglary and two counts of Wanton Destruction of Property -$250 after Cambridge Police served an arrest warrant out of Cambridge District Court. Cambridge Police responded to a housebreak on 3XX Western Avenue on Friday, September 29th. The resident and reporting person stated that at approximately 4:35 a.m. on September 29th, they heard a loud noise of glass breaking in front of their home. They discovered an unknown suspect had thrown a large brick through their living room window, shattered it and caused damage to a chair. The suspect then used a trash barrel to lift themselves up onto the window ledge and secured an Apple MacBook Air from a table that was located next to the window. Print details were collected on scene and examined by the Cambridge Police Crime Scene Services Unit, which verified they belonged to Depina.

DePina is expected to be arraigned today in Cambridge District Court.
