Cambridge Police responded to Massachusetts Avenue for a motor vehicle crash. It was discovered that a motor vehicle had struck a parked vehicle, then fled the area. The damaged vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene.

Cambridge Police received a call from a property manager that there had been malicious destruction to the building that he manages. An unknown person(s) gained entrance to the building between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. and sawed a section of copper water pipe deep within the building, which caused flooding.

Elizabeth Splaine, 34, of 90 Fawcett Street in Cambridge, was arrested at a Massachusetts Avenue business for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise, Resisting Arrest, and a warrant out of Somerville District Court for Larceny Over $250. The same incident resulted in a Braintree resident being summonsed for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise.

Cambridge Police responded to Cambridgeside Place in regards to a shoplifter. A male, later identified as Stephen Costigan, 28, homeless, took a leatherman multi-tool from a Cambridgeside Place business and left the store without paying. Costigan initially refused to stop for police, then became dead-weight in the middle of Cambridge Street while screaming and cursing at officers. The stolen leatherman was located in plain view. Costigan was placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting by Asportation.

As a result of the stop, units were informed that the registered owner and driver of the vehicle, James Bonaventure, 23, of 8 Kimball Court, Burlington, had a warrant out of Cambridge District court for Failure to Stop for Police. Bonaventure was placed into custody.

Wyatt Sears, 23, of 353 Silver Street, Milton, NH, was arrested and charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Class B Drug. Sears also had a warrant out of Malden District Court for Larceny from a Building. During a traffic stop, Sears was found to be operating a motor vehicle without a license and in the possession of a white powdery substance. Sears led officers on a brief foot chase prior to being apprehended.
