ALEWIFE BROOK PKWY
An Arlington resident was summonsed for uttering counterfeit bills after he attempted to use three $20 bills to pay for some merchandise at an Alewife Brook Parkway pharmancy. The bills were later determined to be counterfeit bills. All three bills had the same serial numbers.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE
Cambridge Police responded to Mass Avenue for an unwanted person. Mater Almishala, 52, 167 North Common Street in Lynn, was taken into custody for a warrant out of Lynn District Court for Miscellaneous Municipal Ordnances. He was further charged with resisting arrest after he began screaming incoherently and grabbing at railings to prevent his hands from being handcuffed.

Cambridge Police responded to Massachusetts Avenue at Beech Street on a report of a suspicious package. Upon arrival, the package was cleared by the Explosive Ordnance Unit. All units cleared without incident.

A loss prevention officer for a local business in Harvard Square came to the police station to report that the company had been the victim of a larcenous scheme resulting in the loss of several thousand dollars. The perpetrator of said incident was an employee.

The Cambridge Police Special Investigation Unit arrested David Doherty, 55, 240 Albany Street in Cambridge, and charged him with Possession of a Class B substance, a  warrant out of Cambridge District Court for Assault and Battery to Collect a Loan and Disorderly Conduct. Also arrested and charged with Possession of a Class B Substance was Charles Long, 54, 820 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. Detectives were conducting surveillance on Doherty and Long and observed them engage in a street drug deal.

MAGAZINE ST
While officers were conducting a search for a suspect at River Street and Putnam Avenue, a black Ford Escape stopped in the middle of Putnam Avenue blocking the road. Officers ran the motor vehicle’s information and found the owner had a revoked license. A resident of Hyde Park was summonsed for operating a motor vehicle after his license was revoked.
