The Outstanding Employee Award program recognizes City employees nominated for superior performance, positive attitude, hard work, and dedication to public service. The Brian Murphy Award for Leadership in the Workplace and Public Service is a distinguished recognition given to leaders who display extraordinary qualities in the workplace and dedication to community service.

In 2024, the Cambridge Public Library revealed the top 10 most borrowed books, with The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride leading the fiction category, while The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt topped nonfiction. The children's book Dog Man: The Scarlett Shedder was the most popular among young readers. March saw the highest number of checkouts, contributing to a total of nearly 1.1 million books borrowed that year.

We do not solely use our devices to communicate in written form. Rather, most professional interactions with employers or other professionals are conducted via video call. Video calls can also be a useful tool to communicate with friends and family who are far away. In this class, Digital Navigators will share ways to promote your ability to communicate with professionals, extend communication means with family and friends, and take advantage of online opportunities and resources with concrete examples. This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. With the Commonwealth's State of Emergency ending on June 15, 2021, the City will begin welcoming residents back in administrative buildings without appointments on Tuesday, June 15th.
