Chef Ashley is a Boston-based Filipina American chef and the creator of Mango Tao, a pop‑up culinary experience that showcases modern Filipino cuisine and Southeast Asian flavors through rotating menus, collaborations with local restaurants, and immersive events. A Food Network Chopped champion and former executive chef of Myers + Chang, Chef Ashley blends her cultural heritage with contemporary culinary techniques to craft vibrant, nostalgic, and inventive dishes rooted in Filipino tradition. Through her work, she aims to share Filipino cuisine with diverse audiences and uplift the Asian American and Filipino communities in Boston.

Teens and tweens are welcome to visually capture their own story in short graphic novel format during this 4-session program. All materials are provided and no prior art experience is needed! Registration is required, and registering for the first session includes all four sessions. This program is for ages 10-16. This class teaches Tai Chi arm and leg movements of the yang style long form. There is a strong emphasis on Tai Chi walking, which has been known to improve balance. The class is offered as part of the pilot program at Russell Youth and Community Center.

September Selection: What Goes with What by Julia Turshen. Join friends and neighbors for a potluck! Try a recipe and bring your results or thoughts to share and discuss with other cooks. All experience levels welcome. No need to bring a dish to join. Books will be available for pick up at the Boudreau and Collins Branches during library hours. Bring the extra garden seeds you don't think you will plant this year! See what your neighbors have before you purchase more! We will have envelopes and pens to help keep them straight. If you don't have seeds, come anyway, as we will have extras. This event is co-hosted by Cambridge City Growers, a group of volunteers across Cambridge working to start up gardens in neighborhoods to increase access to healthy, organic, and locally grown food.

Stay tuned for a postponed date in February! Party like you just got your first library card! All Kindergartners, along with their families and friends, are welcome to attend. We will have activities, crafts and snacks.
