Open our Doors
Let’s make our schools, libraries, and public buildings more accessible for all by adding automatic door openers to entries that are wheelchair accessible but lack this feature. The City will work with the Disabilities Commission to prioritize locations.
Electrical Permits
An electrical permit is required for all work to be performed in accordance with the Massachusetts Electrical Code (MEC), 527 CMR 12.00.
City of Cambridge Holiday Gift and Toy Drives
Several City departments are hosting holiday drives to collect gifts and toys for those less fortunate this season. There is a toy drive for families organized by Cambridge Public Schools and the Mayor's Office, a Toys for Tots by Cambridge Fire Department, Winter Gift Card Drive and Cambridge Police Department Collection for Seniors.
Electric Vehicle Chargers
Install Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations at 3 locations with 10 charging heads. EV adoption is growing steadily as measured by EV charging station data collected by the city. This proposal responds to a strong demand from residents who have indicated a need for more publicly available EV chargers.
Crafternoon: Modular Origami (Collins)
Get creative after school! Learn to fold a single Sonobe unit, then repeat. We will connect multiple Sonobes into a three-dimensional object to take home. Please note: latecomers arriving after 4:15 p.m. may not have time to complete this project.
Recommended for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers.
