Join us for an evening of board games at the Valente Branch. Challenge neighbors, family, friends and strangers to prove your gaming might. The library will provide all materials. Bring your friends!

Youth ages 10-16 are welcome to join for three sessions of cooperative role-play and storytelling as we build out skills playing the table-top game DnD. The first session will include a character-building introduction followed by play continued into the next two sessions. No prior DnD experience is required, and experienced players are also welcome to join. Registration is required, as the program is capped at 8 players. Please plan to attend all sessions! (Registration is attached to the first DnD session on 11/7 and closed on that date.) The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. Join us at the Central Square Branch for a screening of documentary film, Sunú. Seen through the eyes of small, midsize and large Mexican maize producers, SUNÚ knits together different stories from a threatened rural world. This film documents how people realize their determination to stay free, to work the land and cultivate their seeds, to be true to their cultures and forms of spirituality, all in a modern world where corn is being threatened at the center of its origin: Mexico. Popcorn and movie snacks provided.

What if game night could turn into a creative coding adventure for the whole family? We are creating mini-games that families can play together, then remix together, and we need your help to make them better! Families with children ages 6 - 12, please drop in to try out some fun, quick, and low-stakes games and share your feedback. Devices will be provided.

Ever wanted to be on a game show? Love friendly competition? Kids ages 7 to 11, now's your chance, right here at the O'Neill Branch! Each time we meet, we'll be playing a different game "show" based on family favorites like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Trivia, or Bingo. Come test your knowledge, try your luck, and see who are the champions of the day! Snacks will be provided.

Get creative after school! Follow instructions to string pony beads into the shape of a lizard. The finished piece can be a backpack charm or toy. Please note: latecomers arriving after 4:30 p.m. may not have time to complete this project. Recommended for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers.
