The annual Scholarship Fund, now in its 32nd year, provides financial assistance to college-bound high school seniors and other Cambridge residents who wish to pursue post-secondary education.

The Career Connections Program (CCP) begins in January and helps adults who need to improve their English communications and/or math skills to think carefully about their interests, values, and job skills

Join herbalist Mo Katz-Christy for a meander through Danehy park to meet wintertime city plants and explore their medicinal uses! We will explore weeds and cultivated plants, trees and shrubs, and have lots of space for questions and conversation. Bring a notebook if you like, and meet us at the parking lot on Sherman Street (if you're late you should be able to find us -- we won't move too far too fast!). Registration is required. As masking requirements begin to relax in Massachusetts, many people will still choose to mask up in certain places and situations. While the City of Cambridge mask requirement for indoor public places ends on March 13, 2022, masks will continue to be required on public and private transportation and in healthcare facilities and other specified settings .

The Community Development Department joins the Cambridge-Somerville Black Business Network (CSBBN)to celebrate of their 5 year anniversary and Black businesses in Cambridge.

Beginning on May 5, 2025, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 239, Section 16, will allow individuals to seal their eviction records if they meet certain requirements. This means that residents may be able to remove their eviction record(s) from public view. This may make it easier to find housing in the future.

Alpacas from the Harvard Alpaca Ranch will be visiting the library for an educational program and meet and greet. Join us to learn more about alpacas and take some time to say hello! This event is intended for school-age children. No registration required. This event will be held outside, with a rain date of Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.
