Join the Department of Transportation to learn about proposed safety improvements on Broadway from Quincy St to Ellery St—an area directly adjacent to Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and the Main Library.

Trace the city's bow tie shape on the annual Bow Tie Bike Ride, hosted by the Cambridge Bicycle Committee and Department of Transportation! This relaxed, family-friendly ride will start and end at Sennott Park—rain or shine—near the intersection of Broadway and Tremont St. The ride will leave promptly at 10:00 a.m. and return by noon. Bike mechanics will be available before the ride to make quick safety checks. No bike? No problem! Anyone 16 and older can request a free Bluebikes pass by Thursday, October 1, by emailing bluebikes@cambridgema.gov. You will need the Bluebikes app to redeem the pass. Stay tuned for route updates by signing up for Community Bike Ride email alerts or by checking the Cambridge Bike Rides website as we get closer to the October 3. There is no registration or charge for the tour—just show up and enjoy!

Due to statewide emergency orders limiting the size of public gatherings in response to COVID-19, and in accordance with Governor Charles D. Baker's Executive Order of March 12, 2020, temporarily amending certain requirements of the Open Meeting Law, as well as the City of Cambridge Temporary Emergency Restrictions on City Public Meetings, City Events and City Permitted Events Due to COVID-19 dated May 27, 2020, meetings of the Planning Board will be held with remote participation until further notice. Collaborate on a biodiversity banner to celebrate Moth Week with a sewing circle on July 11 and July 18. Wildlife Arts invites the community to hand sew blocks for a multi-moth fabric banner! We'll teach beginning sewers, and children old enough to handle a needle may work on caterpillar blocks (recommended for age 10 and up). You'll learn about moth biodiversity in Massachusetts and help publicize the humble and little-known world of moths. The banner will be displayed at the Cambridge Moth Ball on July 22 at Fresh Pond Reservation and will be available in the Wildlife Arts banner lending library when complete. All materials will be provided. Registration is suggested. You may attend one or both sessions. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability.
