Two people who open the same social media app will see different things. For example, you might see a recipe video, a local news clip, and a friend's photo, while someone else might see a sports highlight, a sneaker review, and a travel vlog. In this session, Digital Navigators will share insights into how that happens, who decides, and what controls you actually have over social media algorithms and data sharing. This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. The Department of Public Works and the City's Community Development Department will be hosting an on-site Community Meeting on Wednesday, June 4 from 4-6 p.m. Anyone interested in attending can meet project staff at the corner of Chetwynd Road and Newell Street to discuss the Chetwynd Road Reconstruction Project.

Join us for the Fourth Annual Spelling Bee Finals. The Bee aims to enhance the spelling and vocabulary skills of contestants while promoting reading, writing, and appreciation for the power of words. Community members are invited to attend the finals to provide support and cheer on contestants.

The Social Media Strategy Workshops Series are three workshops designed to be taken together as each one builds upon the next workshop. In this three-session workshop series, you'll be building your own social media strategy from the ground up, including making your own graphics with Canva, researching effective hashtags for your business, and reviewing how to post on different social media platforms. At the end of this workshop series, you'll leave with a social media plan that you can start using immediately!
