The New England Jazz Collaborative, in partnership with The Middle East, will launch a new Monday night jazz orchestra series this fall.

Back by popular demand! Explore the art of botanical collage. In this workshop, participants work with a variety of plant-inspired imagery—think leaves, flowers, stems, and natural textures—to create their own unique composition. Whether you prefer something delicate and minimal or bold and layered, this is a chance to experiment, play, and let your creativity unfold. No prior experience is needed—this workshop is designed for all skill levels, including complete beginners. A selection of materials will be provided, so you can simply show up and start creating. That said, students are more than welcome to bring your own papers, clippings, pressed plants, or anything else that inspires you. Registration is required.

Join us for the next community meeting for the Danehy Park Improvements Project! During this session, the project team will share a summary of the community feedback we’ve received so far, discuss project goals and draft ideas inspired by your input. There will be opportunity for breakout discussions for deeper engagement from the community.

The City of Cambridge launched the 7th Cycle of Participatory Budgeting (PB7) in 2020. In September, community members submitted ideas for how to spend $500,000 on one-time capital projects to improve Cambridge.

On Wednesday, April 29, City staff will provide an update on the Cambridge Street Safety Improvement Project during a Virtual Information Session.

Get up close and personal with chickens! This program includes a chicken-themed story time and educational games about chicken behavior and anatomy. The highlight of the program is the Chicken Circle, where youth are able to touch and interact with live chickens. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. This program will happen indoors due to the heat. Registration is required. When registering, please list how many children are attending. The City’s contractor, E.J. Paving, will begin making roadway improvements on Brattle St. between Harvard Square and Sparks St. on Saturday, September 24.
