Street Sweeping and Trash/Recycling Collection in Area Affected by Fire to Occur as Scheduled

Regularly scheduled street sweeping operations will take place in District A (even side) on Wednesday, December 7th. Residents and vehicles in the area impacted by the fire will be given special consideration.

Trash and recycling collection will take place in the Thursday route as scheduled on Thursday, December 8th. Residents occupying a property in the area affected by the fire should set their trash and recycling out as they normally would.

Please call the Department of Public Works at 617-349-4800 with questions about street sweeping or trash/recycling collections.

A number of street closures will remain in place in Cambridge. The following streets have no or limited access for pedestrians and vehicles:

  • Berkshire Street – from York Street to Plymouth – indefinite
  • Plymouth Street – Cardinal Medeiros Ave to Berkshire Street – indefinite
  • Vandine Street – Cardinal Medeiros to Berkshire Street
  • York Street – Willow Street to Berkshire Street
