Public Works Snow Operations Plans for January 8-10

City snow operations will continue tonight and overnight on Tuesday, focusing on locations identified by the Public Works, Traffic, Police, Fire, and School departments.

Public Works crews will be performing salting and snow removal operations targeting multiple areas across the City to help widen streets, increase sight lines at corners, and improve access at intersections for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.

Parking will continue to be restricted on certain streets to maintain access for emergency vehicles and public transit service. These streets will be marked with either “flip-down” metal signs or temporary paper signs indicating "TOW ZONE-No Parking Until Further Notice-Traffic Clearance." (See list below)

As always, we ask that all users remember to share the roadway, go slow, and use extra caution to be aware of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.

With warming temperatures and rain forecast for later this week, we also ask that residents do their part to clear catch basins to help minimize flooding issues once the snow begins to melt.

Know of a street, bike lane, or sidewalk that needs clearing? Use the Commonwealth Connect app or report online at Our crews will be checking reports and addressing locations when crews are available.

We all have a shared responsibility for keeping our community safe and accessible during winter weather. For you, your neighbors, people with strollers or using wheelchairs, and the many people in Cambridge who walk, please do your part.

How can we help you? I'd like...
