Athletic Fields and Courts

Request an Athletic Field Permit

Permits are required for use of any City of Cambridge athletic field. Fields can be used for a variety of athletic activities, and non-athletic activity requests will also be considered. Priority is given to Cambridge youth organizations and City-sponsored programs.

Athletic Field and Court Locations

All athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds are open to the public year-round, from dawn to dusk. View a map of public parks, playgrounds and reservations and athletic uses available at each location. 

In addition to athletic fields, Cambridge has outdoor athletic courts in every neighborhood, where residents and visitors can enjoy tennis, pickleball, basketball, and other activities.

Danehy Park

Danehy Park is a popular, 50-acre park in north Cambridge. For more than 30 years, residents and visitors have enjoyed the park’s athletic fields, walking paths, playgrounds, public art, dog park, and community events.

Recreation manage the park in coordination with the Department of Public Works, the Community Development Department, and other agencies to ensure it remains a safe and enjoyable place for residents and visitors to enjoy a range of recreational activities.
