Christmas Week and New Year's Holiday Closures, Trash Schedule & Tree Pick-Up Information

Cambridge City Hall

Cambridge city offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holidays, and on Thursday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day. There will be no trash or recycling collection on Thursday, Dec. 25 and collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.  Additionally, there will be no trash or recycling collection on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 and  collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Street cleaning operations will not take place on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25. The last day for street cleaning operations in 2014 is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26. Street cleaning services will resume in April 2015.

The Recycling Drop-off Center will not be open on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.  

Curbside collection of bare Christmas trees (weather permitting), will take place Dec. 29 – Jan. 16, on your regular trash/ recycling dayDecorations and stands must be removed and trees should not be in a plastic bag. Trees should be placed at the curb by 7am on collection day or after 6pm the night before.  Click here for more info.  

Residents can also bring bare trees to the Recycling Center during open hours (Tues/Thurs 4pm-7:30pm and Sat 9am-4pm) from Dec. 27 – Jan. 31, 2015.

Cambridge Cemetery will have gates open from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season.  Cemetery and Public Works Administrative Offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, Thursday. Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.
