A 12-week series of beginner's classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Simon. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants. Due to the popularity and to gain the most out of this program, we expect all participants to commit to all sessions in this 12-week course. As for Gallery 344 in particular, the exhibition program is curated within a very specific scope of presenting art and artists that deal specifically with art and artistic interventions in the public realm or are associated with a percent for art project, in which case we exhibit their other work or working process to highlight the ongoing public project on which they’re working. In other words, it is not programmed as a typical gallery space.

The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) will continue to offer free COVID-19 testing for Cambridge residents 4 days per week on with modified hours Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The site at 50 Church St. that previously offered testing will be discontinued beginning in June.

The Phoenix Landing will produce Mardi Gras in June, bringing the spirit of community joy and celebration to Lafayette Square (intersection of Mass Ave and Main St). Legless Lizard will bring the New Orleans-style Mardi Gras tunes. The event is planned for June 26, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

The Cambridge Historical Commission staff is available to make educational presentations to students in public and private schools in Cambridge.

Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Snacks will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller. When Lily and her family move in with her sick grandmother, a magical tiger straight out of her grandmother’s Korean folk tales arrives, sending Lily on a quest to solve a mystery from generations ago. But deals with tigers are never what they seem! Content: this novel deals with the loss of direct family members, both off-page and during the course of the story. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family.
