Allison Smith presents Common Goods as a crafting performance in the park and installation at the nearby Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University (24 Quincy Street). Exploring the history of making in Cambridge, Smith will lead colonial-era making workshops and discussions to address issues of early moments in statehood, revolution, and the capacity of objects to effect and reflect change.

Following Smith's performance, join us for History Cafe- An artist talk with the Cambridge Historical Society at the Hong Kong restaurant in Harvard Square.

This performance is part of Common Exchange, a multi-faceted art project that celebrates and examines the Cambridge Common following it's recent renovation. Common Exchange will run throughout the spring, summer, and fall of this year, and includes performances, installations, exhibitions, and a special-edition newspaper.
