Are you considering buying a home? The City has many programs to assist potential homebuyers through every step of the process.
We offer a CHAPA-certified First-Time Homebuyer Class ten times each calendar year. The class is free and open to all. Online registration for the June 2018 workshop will open on April 26, 2018.

Workshop on Condominium Ownership
Are you interested in learning more about condominiums and the special nature of this type of ownership? The City of Cambridge and the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA) offer a free workshop several times a year. The workshop covers the following:
- Is owning a condominium right for you
- Legal structure of condominiums;
- Property management and maintenance; and
- Financial management and taxes; condominium insurance.

Individual Pre-Purchase Counseling
If you have questions about the homebuying process, homeownership, mortgages, or buying a home through a City program, Housing Division staff can provide Cambridge residents who have completed the First-time Homebuyer Class with one-on-one counseling. Affordable Homeownership Units
The City offers affordable homeownership units which are available to first-time homebuyers with incomes up to 100% of Area Median Income who would like to purchase a home in the city.
