Small Business Succession Planning Pilot Program

The City of Cambridge is launching a new program for business owners interested in succession planning. 

Business owners are encouraged to participate in this workshop series if you have not yet decided on the future of your business. This program includes four workshops to help you create an action plan to sell or transfer your business. You can attend one or all workshops. If you attend all four workshops, you can get additional resources to help you put that plan into action. 

What is succession planning?

Succession planning is getting your business ready to be sold or transferred to your family, an employee, or someone else. Planning ahead can help you: 

  • find ways to make your business run smoothly
  • plan for what happens to your business after you leave
  • understand how much your business is worth and how to prove it
  • think about who in your network might take over the business 

Succession Planning Pilot Program

All workshops will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in person at Cambridge City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, 2nd floor, and online on Zoom.

  • Wednesday, May 15: How Much Is Your Business Worth?
  • Thursday, May 23: Finding the Perfect Team: Putting People in the Right Jobs
  • Thursday, May 30: Tips for Making Your Business Run on Its Own
