Based on feedback from Open Studios artists requesting additional opportunities to engage with each other, Cambridge Arts is launching an Artist Meet-Up Series. Join us at a variety of times throughout the year to connect with your fellow Cambridge Arts Open Studios artists, swap tips about how best to prep for the weekend, and more. 2019 Cambridge Arts Open Studios Artist Meet-Up: FREE Marketing Workshop - Making the Most of Open Studios
Monday, Aug. 19, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Community Meeting Room
City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Second Floor
Perfect for artists who are new to publicizing, displaying, and selling their work or for those who feel they could use some refreshers, this FREE workshop, presented by local arts marketing professional Anna Koon, will cover all you need to know to make your open studios weekend a successful experience for both you and your customers. We will discuss how to market the event, how to make the most of exhibiting and selling your art, and how to use the event to further your creative journey. Discussion will include supplies, tips, and tools. Time is allotted for tackling questions and concerns, so that each participant will have a personalized, confident strategy. Participants are given take-home materials to help them prepare for the big event!
Anna Koon applies her experience as a small business consultant and professional artist to her workshops and creative coaching. She is the founder of the Focusing Series and has developed workshops and curricula for the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston, the Jamaica Plain Arts Council, the Danforth Museum, The Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts, Belmont Artists Association, and Arts Worcester with additional work with creatives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, with further studies at The Atlanta College of Art, and the Photography School of France.
2019 Cambridge Arts Open Studios Artist Meet-Up: Marketing Materials Social
Monday, Sept. 9, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Participating Artist Studio in North Cambridge. Location will be sent to registered artists.
Distributing Cambridge Arts Open Studios marketing materials throughout Cambridge is incredibly important for the success of the event and it can be fun, too! At this meet-up, we’ll start with a “happy-hour” style social when you’ll be able to meet other Open Studios artists and pick up your marketing materials. We’ll then discuss distribution locations and, in teams, head out to paper the town.
