7th annual Margret and H. A. Ray Curious George Lecture

The Cambridge Public Library names popular children’s author, Stuart Gibbs, the speaker for the seventh annual Margret and H. A. Rey Curious George Lecture. The event will take place on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m., at the Main Library, 449 Broadway. The event connects children and their families to the magic of reading through a memorable experience with an author or illustrator.

“Connecting children in our community with the creators of books that are meaningful to them can have a lasting impact. I’m thrilled this year's lecture will allow children to meet one of their favorite book creators in person" said Julie Roach, Manager of Youth Services.

The annual lecture - developed in partnership with the Margret and H. A. Rey Curious George Fund - creates a community celebration around outstanding and engaging books for young readers. Speakers are chosen in honor of Margret and H.A. Rey, Cambridge residents who created many beloved children’s books including Curious George.

“I am pleased that this important collaboration with the Margret and H. A. Rey Curious George Fund is now in its seventh year” said Dr. Maria McCauley, Director of Libraries. “The excitement exhibited by the young patrons who fill the Lecture Hall waiting in excitement to connect with our featured authors highlights the popularity of this initiative.”

Stuart Gibbs is the New York Times bestselling author of the Charlie Thorne series, FunJungle series, Moon Base Alpha series, Once Upon a Tim series, and Spy School series.

The Margret and H.A. Rey Curious George Lecture will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library Lecture Hall.
