The Cambridge Public Library will welcome featured authors from This Land, My Beloved, a one-of-a-kind trilingual poetry anthology published by Trilingual Press, for a celebration and reading. The editors of Trilingual Press will host the event as contributing poets share their work on stage. The celebration will take place on Saturday, October 28 from 1-4 p.m. in the Main Library lecture hall. Registration is required.
A "trilingual anthology," This Land, My Beloved is edited by the prolific multilingual poet and editor Tontongi (Eddy Toussaint), author of Tyaka Poetica (2021), and prefaced by the National Book Award-winning Edwidge Danticat. This Land, My Beloved features the work of dozens of contemporary Haitian poets, including the former poet laureate of Boston, Danielle Legros Georges. The event will also feature music played by Joseph Chery.
“Trilingual Press and its associates are proud of the development and public launching of the first trilingual Haitian poetry anthology,” says Tontongi, editor-in-chief of Trilingual Press. “Our event's organizers feel honored for the event to be co-sponsored by the venerable Cambridge Public Library.”
