City of Cambridge offices, including all Library locations are closed until further notice.

The City of Cambridge is working closely with regional municipal partners and state agencies on sharing information and coordinating community responses to the public health crisis.

During this time, patrons are asked to keep any library materials that they currently have borrowed. Book drops at all locations will be closed. To minimize the impact of this closure on patrons, loan periods will be extended to April 15.

“We do not lightly make the decision to close our facilities,” said Dr. Maria McCauley, Director of Libraries. “The community’s health and wellbeing is our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding during this uncertain and difficult time and send our best wishes to the Cambridge community to stay safe and healthy.”

While the Main Library and branch locations are closed, the Library remains open online at cambridgepubliclibrary.org. Patrons may use their Minuteman Library Network library card to access thousands of materials including ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, movies and services such as online learning via Lynda.com and Mango Languages.
