To provide access to all the people of Cambridge and to insure that we manage our resources well, Library 21 is gathering information from as many groups as possible about what the people want.

What would you like in the library?

A. Community Activity Center

  • Book-signings

  • Meeting room in Central Square is good and is only one in neighborhood

  • Computer terminals- need additional link to Main library in Central square

  • Meeting spaces get people in the door

  • Parking permits and other services bring people in

  • Community gathering place

  • Teleconferencing

  • Communications center

  • Video hookups to other cities

  • Library as a place for participation in government

  • Future needs for knowledge important use of library

  • Safe local neighborhood place for kids

  • Enrichment activities

  • Small business support

  • Conference centers

  • Lectures for kids

  • Cable hook-up for programs so you don’t have to go to a bar; could use earphones
