Following a Vacancy Recount of the 2,860 ballots credited to Akriti Bhambi in the 2021 School Committee Election, Caroline M. Hunter was elected to the Cambridge School Committee for the remainder of the 2022-2023 term.
Election Night unofficial results include in-person early voting, mail-in ballots received before Election Day, and ballots processed by tabulators at the polling places. These results do not include hand-counted ballots (auxiliary ballots), write-in results, provisional ballots, or on-time mail-in ballots received on or after November 8, 2022.
Under the provisions of “The Votes Act”, ballots returned by mail for the State Election may be received up to 5 p.m. on November 12, 2022 if postmarked by November 8, 2022.
Early voting is an opportunity to vote before Election Day. Any registered voter in Cambridge can vote during the early voting period, from Saturday, October 22, 2022 through Friday, November 4, 2022. Unlike Election Day, you are not assigned to a polling location. You can go to any of the Cambridge Early Voting Locations.
On June 22, 2022, “The VOTES Act” was signed into law. The VOTES Act makes several temporary election administration changes, which were instituted in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, permanent. Early voting is available to all voters for the State Election, November 8, 2022. Early voting is available by mail and in person to all registered voters and no excuse is required.
