Two alarms were ordered for the fire in the 4 story, brick & wood, multi residence at 1264 Cambridge Street. Arriving with heavy fire showing from the rear porches (accessed via Prospect Street), 1st-due Engine 5 used the pre-connect deck gun to knock down the heavy, overlapping fire, while advancing a 2 1/2" attack line with Squad 3.
Companies quickly established water supplies, stretched attack lines to the interior, completed searches for residents, and
completed extinguishment.
All residents were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported. Eight adults & 2 children (no pets) were displaced by the Fire. American Red Cross assisted them in securing temporary housing.
The cause & origin were under investigation.
