Stay Off the Ice

Don't be fooled. Don't be tempted. River ice is never safe!
The only safe ice is at the rink.
For a person or dog on the ice or in the water, call 911 right away to get trained & equipped firefighters en route to make the rescue.
If you make that emergency rescue call, stay on scene so that you can point out to first responders exactly where the person or dog fell into the frigid water. Seconds count when the victim may be suffering from hypothermia.
As we know, New England weather can change very quickly, from polar cold and windy one day to mild, rainy and foggy the next day.
Don't become a casualty! Stay off the ice! Stay safe!
