Dear Patrons,
Last week, I was invited to testify at the Massachusetts State House at a hearing on the effect of changes to federal policy and cuts to federal funding on Massachusetts libraries. I was joined by David Leonard, Director of the Boston Public Library, and Maureen Amyot, Director of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners to speak about the importance of libraries and what we stand to lose in the face of federal budget cuts. The hearing can be viewed here. Testimony by library representatives is up first. Learn more about federal funding impacts and ways to get involved through ALA and MBLC.
