Additional Background on the Municipal Election Process and Corrected Preliminary Unofficial Results

  • Preliminary unofficial results originally published on November 4 did not include all ballots.

  • Write-in, auxiliary, provisional, and overseas absentee ballots were not included in the preliminary unofficial results as they were processed after Election Day (see below).

  • During the Municipal Election, a technician error produced a discrepancy in the City’s preliminary unofficial results that were generated on Election Day.

This discrepancy was subsequently identified by the Election Commission Staff and an Election Auditor hired by the Election Commission. The discrepancy was then verified, accounted for, and corrected in advance of the updated unofficial results that were shared November 7 and all results shared thereafter.

  • Due to public interest, both the corrected preliminary unofficial results and the original preliminary unofficial results posted election night are now posted for those who would like to compare results.

  • Official results, which included provisional ballots and mailed overseas absentee ballots counted on November 14 as required by state law, were published on November 14. With all ballots counted, results are now official.
