City of Cambridge Seeking Residents To Join Commission for Persons with Disabilities Advisory Board

Do you or does someone you know have an interest in raising awareness of disability issues and promoting equal opportunity for people with a range of disabilities, including physical, mental, and sensory? Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang is seeking to fill vacancies on the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) Advisory Board.
Applications are due by Tuesday, October 7, 2025 and can be submitted to the City Manager’s Office using the City’s online application system at https://www.cambridgema.gov/apply. A cover letter, resume or applicable experience can be submitted during the online application process.
Members should be Cambridge residents representing different disabilities, diverse cultures and races, and all areas of Cambridge.
What is the role of the Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) Advisory Board?
The CCPD Advisory Board works to increase access to all aspects of Cambridge community life for people with disabilities. CCPD also provides information, referrals, guidance, and technical assistance to individuals and their families, employers, public agencies, businesses and private non-profit organizations.
How long do members serve on the CCPD Advisory Board?
The CCPD Advisory Board has 11 members who serve as volunteers for three-year terms.
When does the Advisory Board meet?
The CCPD Advisory Board currently meets virtually on the second Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. Members must attend monthly meetings and also take part in Working Groups and work on projects as needed.
What are the duties, responsibilities, and requirements of CCPD Advisory Board Members?
CCPD Advisory Board members work with other board members and office staff to carry out the CCPD Ordinance (Cambridge Municipal Code Chapter 2.96).
