Cambridge Health Alliance and Cambridge First Responders to Conduct Live Active Shooter Training Exercise
Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

WHAT:              Cambridge Health Alliance and Cambridge First Responders to Conduct Live Active Shooter Training

WHERE:           Cambridge Health Alliance East Cambridge Care Center, 163 Gore Street, Cambridge MA

WHEN:             Wednesday, October 19, 2022 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The actual exercise is expected to take place between 6:30-7:30 p.m. There will be minor traffic impacts in the area; traffic units will be diverting and managing traffic on Gore Street. There will also be minor impacts to Cambridge Street, while there may be minor impacts to the streets connecting Gore Street to Cambridge Street, particularly Seventh Street and Lambert Street.

DCR’s Simoni Rink will remain accessible for any evening activities. 


WHO:               Cambridge Health Alliance, Cambridge Police, Cambridge Fire, Cambridge Emergency Communications, and Pro EMS

ABOUT THE TRAINING: The Cambridge Health Alliance is partnering with the Cambridge Police, Cambridge Fire, Cambridge Emergency Communications, and Professional Ambulance to conduct a live active shooter response exercise to enhance communication and coordination skills with first responders during a crisis and test the city’s emergency response systems. This joint training exercise serves a crucial need of timely communication and coordination to mitigate the effects of a catastrophic event.
