    A Harvard Square store manager reported that an unknown person stole merchandise from the store on the 0 block of Brattle St. The manager was able to get the merchandise back and would like the suspect to be trespassed from the store if seen again. A report was taken.

    Police responded to the 500 block Massachusetts Avenue for reports of Shoplifting. Upon arrival, Loss Prevention had a suspect, later identified as Steven Ruffino in their office. Loss Prevention reported that RUFFINO proceeded to conceal items in a bag and failed to properly render payment while at self-check out. Steven Ruffino, 63, of Cambridge was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Shoplifting by Concealing.

    Police arrested Stephen Costigan, 36, of Everett for one count of Shoplifting by Asportation 3rd Offense. Costigan matched the description of the suspect and was stopped on the 200 block of Harvard Street with stolen merchandise from store in his brown tote bag.

    Police took a report for a hit & run with personal injuries that occurred at Green Street and Pleasant Street. As a result, a report was taken.

    Police responded to a report of a theft from an establishment in Central Square. A Loss Prevention Official from this establishment observed a suspect concealing numerous merchandise items in a trash bag. The suspect was then observed walking out of the store without paying for the items, past all points of purchase. The suspect was eventually apprehended and identified. It was discovered that a suspect had stolen numerous merchandise items from another establishment in Central Square as well. It was also discovered that there was an active arrest warrant for the suspect in addition to a prior conviction for a past shoplifting offense. Peter Cutelis, 39, Unhoused, was taken into custody and will be charged with Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise, 2nd Offense.

An individual was seen on video surveillance at the self-checkout line scanning a different barcode and walking out with an item. The individual has also been previously trespassed from the store. A report was taken, and the individual was summonsed.
