Lowell Resident Arrested in Porter Sq. for Firearm and Narcotic Offenses

Cambridge Police and members of the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force today placed Brett Parnham, 49, of Lowell under arrest on multiple charges related to the distribution of illegal narcotics and unlawful possession of a firearm. Detectives were able to identify Parnham as part of an investigation into illegal narcotic sales in Cambridge and the surrounding area. Today, Parnham was located in Porter Sq. and was observed by detectives engaged in a suspected drug transaction. Detectives were able to stop Parnham and found him to be in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and suboxone, much of which were prepackaged for sale. In addition, Parnham was armed with a loaded .45 caliber handgun, a crime in Massachusetts as he does not possess a License-to-Carry (LTC).  Parnham will be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on multiple charges including:

  • Possession to Distribute Class A (Heroin / Fentanyl)
  • Trafficking & Possession to Distribute Class B (Cocaine, Methamphetamine)
  • Carry a Loaded Firearm Without a License – 3rd Offense
  • Carry a Loaded Firearm with 3 Prior Drug Convictions
  • Drug Possession Class E (Suboxone)  

The prosecution of this case will be managed by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
