Analysis of the crime totals for the first seven months of 2023 indicates that violent crimes recorded a 23% increase when compared with last year. Similarly, property crimes rose 23% with 283 additional crimes reported when compared with the first seven months of 2022. However, when analyzing the serious crime totals of July 2023 versus June 2023, there has been a slight dip of 4% in the number of index incidents, with 12 fewer crimes reported.
