Statement Regarding Individual Located in Fresh Pond
CAMBRIDGE – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Pauline Wells have confirmed that on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, shortly after 12:00 p.m., Cambridge Police and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s office responded to Fresh Pond in Cambridge for a report of the body of a male individual along the shoreline.
Cambridge Fire Department also responded and was able to remove the body from the water. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted the case and determined the identity of the individual to be a 41-year-old male who was known to be in the area. The preliminary investigation did not indicate any obvious trauma to the body and there is no foul play suspected at this time.
