Cambridge Police responded to a call near the Cambridge Common for a suspicious backpack. There were no hazards discovered and the backpack was removed from the area.

MT AUBURN ST
Cambridge Police responded to Mt. Auburn Street for a report of a shoplifting. Jarron McKinney, 22, 188 Willow Street in Cambridge, was arrested for shoplifting when he was found to have two bottles of liquor in his backpack. It was discovered later that McKinney also had outstanding warrants in Somerville District Court and Quincy District Court for Larceny from a Person and Evading Taxi Fare, respectively.

A Weymouth resident reports that an unknown person operating an unknown motor vehicle struck a 3 foot by 1 foot section of a brick wall of a residence on Lexington Street. The suspect vehicle left the scene after knocking the brick wall over.

A Boston resident reports than an unknown person(s) smashed the right rear passenger side window of a 2006 Ford, which was parked in a parking lot on Vassal Lane.

A Cambridge resident working in Harvard Square returned to his bike after work to find that the lock was snipped and the bike was stolen. The bike was a Diamondback Sorrento, all black with light blue trimming.
