Cambridge Police responded to a Mass Ave. address to document a hit and run to a motor vehicle report. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting person who stated his motor vehicle was struck and damaged by an unknown motor vehicle while it was parked unattended at a Mass Ave. address between 12 a.m. and 10 a.m.

A resident of Cambridgepark Drive was stopped in his motor vehicle on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge for an expired inspection sticker on his motor vehicle. It was discovered that the resident was also operating a vehicle on a public way with a suspended license.

Cambridge Police were dispatched to Magazine Street for a past larceny report from a building. A Cambridge resident reports that an unknown suspect stole a package containing shoes valued at $300. This occurred sometime between 12/11/2015 at 8:30 p.m. and 12/12/2015 at 8 a.m.

Members of the Special Investigations Unit were assigned directed patrols in the city of Cambridge due to an increase in package thefts. As a result of these specific thefts, plain clothes detectives have been deployed during peak hours to help attack this problem.

Benjamin Mangham, 45, homeless, was arrested for Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise (MGL c. 266 s. 30A) after he was observed by loss prevention personnel removing security packaging on a box of headphones and then placing the headphones under his shirt. Mangham also had a warrant from Boston District Court for Possession of Class B Drugs (MGL c. 94C S. 34C), Municipal By-Law or Ordinance Violation (MGL c. 40 s. 21B) and Possession of Class B Drugs, Subsequent Offense (MGL c. 94C s. 34D).

A Somerville resident reported that her vehicle was struck while parked inside of a Cambridgeside Place parking garage. Her 2011 Honda Accord sustained damage to the driver's side front quarter panel. No information was left from the other driver.

Cambridge Police responded to Hancock Street for a break into a motor vehicle in progress. An unknown suspect gained entry to a motor vehicle by unknown means and stole several items. The suspect was not located.
