Loss Prevention personnel for a department store reported that they had a female detained in their loss prevention office after she was observed shoplifting. Lourdes Rodriguez, 51, 320 Broadway in Somerville, was observed via security CCTV selecting several items off of the displace shelves by loss prevention personnel. Rodriguez walked out of the store, past the last point of sale and made no attempt to pay for any of the unpaid merchandise. Rodriguez was stopped after she left the store with the unpaid merchandise and she was escorted to the loss prevention office where the Cambridge Police were called. The total value of the merchandise taken by Rodriguez was $1,295.98. The merchandise taken included young men's clothing, fragrances, costume jewelry, a watch and luggage.

ALBANY ST
Cambridge Police were conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Albany Street and Portland Street when an officer observed a black sedan with a MA registration and no inspection sticker. The vehicle was stopped for this violation and a juvenile was identified as the operator and the passenger as well. The operator did not have a license and was summoned for operating unlicensed, no inspection sticker and not wearing a seatbelt.
