An Alewife Brook Parkway business reported a female, later identified as a Cambridge resident, was stopped by the store’s loss prevention officer for attempting to steal several items of clothing.

Cambridge Police responded to Lancaster Street for the report of a past assault. After an investigation, police determined that David Crump assaulted the victim by striking him with a cane. David Crump, 64, 10 Lancaster Street, Cambridge, was arrested and charged with Assault & Battery With a Dangerous Weapon +60.

Demetrius Reese, 23, of 112 Southhampton, Boston, was placed under arrest and charged with Trespassing, Resisting Arrest, and Assault & Battery on a Police Officer. Reese was charged after loss prevention officers at a Massachusetts Avenue business asked him multiple times to leave the store. When police officers arrived on scene, Reese refused to provide identification to officers and leave the store. Reese then pushed an officer and resisted arrest when officers tried to get control of him.

Deborah DeSilva, 42, 101 Green Street, Lynn, was placed under arrest for shoplifting. DeSilva was seen taking items from a department store and leaving without making any attempt to pay for the items.
