Cambridge Police Investigating Gunshots in Area of Norfolk Street and Worcester Street

The Cambridge Police Department is investigating reports of gunshots that occurred earlier this morning in the area of Norfolk Street and Worcester Street. At approximately 5:48 a.m., the Cambridge Police responded to Norfolk Street after several gunshots were reported and the ShotSpotter gun detection system was activated. There are currently no reported injuries or victims. After a thorough search, the Cambridge Police did confirm the gunshots and recovered shell casings in the area of Norfolk Street and Worcester Street.

One resident reported hearing a motor vehicle speeding away following reports of gunshots, but was unable to provide any description of the vehicle.  

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and information from the community is critical to solving these types of crimes.  Anyone with information is asked to call Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.
